Lauren was Miss Wheelchair Texas 2019 and has Congenital Muscular Dystrophy. As a Leader in our program, she LOVES making connections to participants and seeing their faces light up when they realize how much they have in common. Buchanan, her amazing service dog, is always be her side.  Students enjoy learning the many responsibilities that a service dog has and the appropriate etiquette to use when interacting with someone who uses a service dog.  Lauren currently works at the University of North Texas.  She is newly married and enjoys reading, public speaking, watching movies, and eating sushi.
