I like working for To Be Like Me because of their prioritization of letting the disabled community speak for itself authentically. Their mission is important because it inspires open curiosity and challenges a large range of preconceived assumptions about disabled people
Hannah O
Hannah is a college student with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) Type 2. When she isn’t studying or working at To Be Like Me, Hannah enjoys talking with friends, listening to music, horror movies, and trying new kinds of tea. She wants people to know that while offering assistance is always appreciated, some with SMA value accomplishing what little tasks they can independently, even if it may look different or take longer. Insight, such as this, helps To Be Like Me participants to be better friends to those with muscular dystrophy.
