To Be Like Me employs people with a disability or difference to be our Leaders.
Our Leaders share their stories, answer questions, and provide disability awareness education to school-aged children. These experiences impact future interactions, spread empathy, and create a more collaborative and inclusive environment. Empathic students are better able to create and manage successful relationships throughout their lives. Additional benefits of having empathy include positive correlations with leadership, conflict resolution, and the ability to identify and meet goals. By fostering empathy and an environment of inclusion, TBLM sets up each child for success, now and in the future.
Our mission is to break down barriers and foster compassion. Technology that is not accessible is a barrier, and we strive to ensure that the information available on our website is accessible to everyone.
